The Doctor's Back
The night air was cool against Liza's face as she stepped outside of the library. It was a cool night, and the stars hung over her, like little lanterns in the sky. She buried her hands in her coat, and began walking down the street.
She got back to her apartment, throwing her bag onto the floor as she entered.
"Well someone's in a foul mood." A voice said from the kitchen.
"Not in the mood, Alice." Liza said as she collapsed onto the couch. She turned on the TV. The screen flickered on, revealing a tall, thin woman with red hair, talking to a crowd.
"...and that is why I will continue to support this program. Britain needs to be at the forefront of any and ALL technological advancements. Thank you."
The women left the stage, with reporters following her. Liza sighed.
"I don't trust that woman." she said.
"Well, she's going to be speaking at school in a few days. Try to warm up to her by them." Alice said.
"Fantastic," Liza grumbled.
Alice left the kitchen and sat down next to her. She was a few inches taller than Liza, with dyed blue hair.
"What's wrong?" she asked. "Is it the dream again?"
Liza nodded.
"I keep seeing this man. I know he's in pain, causing he keeps holding his chest. And there's this sound. This revving sound... and then it changes. He's next to me, showing me all these stars... it's really weird"
Alice shrugged.
"It's just a dream. Men don't just pop out of nowhere, and whisk woman off to show them the Universe. That's the kind of thing that happens in really cheesy stories. "
Liza sighed.
"I guess you're right." Liza got up. "I'm going to sleep. Wake me for class in the morning."
Alice nodded.
Liza climbed into her bed, drifting off into sleep before she pulled the covers on over her. She found herself dreaming again. And the man was there.
He was a tall man, with dark skin. He was wearing a blue shirt, with a orange tie. He looked around, then looked at her.
"Hello, Lizy." he said.
"How do you know my name?" she asked.
The man scratched his head.
"Yeah, it's a long story. I'm uploading a psychic feed into your head."
"A what?"
"It's like a hologram. Ever seen Star Wars? Same thing." the man explained.
"So what, I'm your only hope?" Liza snorted.
The man nodded his head. "Basically yeah. Look, tomorrow, at around 5:36 p.m. I'm going to be outside the library. And I'm going to need some help. Look outside. You'll see something that doesn't belong."
He turned to leave.
"Wait!" she called. "Who are you"
The man turned around.
"I'm-" he started as he slowly faded away.
Liza's head snapped off her pillow. She looked at the clock. It was 8:00 in the morning.
"Damn it Alice." she muttered to herself.
She quickly took a shower, got dressed and ran out of the room. Her day didn't get any better from there; lectures were dull, classmates were duller, and even the sky turned grey, as if to tell her that her entire life was one long, dull story. At four she went down to the library, went up to the second floor, at sat down.
She read for almost an hour then glanced up at the clock. 5:28. She closed her book.
"What could be the harm in looking?" She thought. She walked over to a window, and looked outside. The street looked normal, with lights, and people walking past. Liza sighed. "Just a crazy dream." She thought as she turned to go back to the table, but then something caught her eye. She turned around again, and saw a police box.
"That wasn't there before," she said aloud. She ran down the steps and across the street to the box. She stood in front of it and looked at her watch. 5:35. She took a deep breath and knocked on it.
The door swung open, with smoke billowing out of it. Liza waved her hands to clear some of it away, taking a step back as she did so.
A man came stumbling out of the box, clutching his side. He propped himself against the box for support, and looked at her. He was wearing different clothes, but she knew him. It was the man from her dreams.
"Who are you?" she asked.
He looked up and smiled at her.
"I'm The Doctor." he said before collapsing onto the ground.

OOooooiiiii, you should read my poetry. It'll only waste a couple of minutes to read them all, and maybe you'll enjoy the absurdity for a while.
